The Brewery Adventure Ep.8 OMNI Brewing
Summary
In this episode of The Brewery Adventure, Tim and Courtney dive into the world of OMNI Brewing Company, a Twin Cities favorite with two distinct locations. They sip their way through a lineup of flavorful beers, soak in the brewery’s unique vibes, and share their thoughts on what makes OMNI a standout spot.
Along the way, they navigate the chaos of visiting during St. Patrick’s Day, mourn the loss of the legendary pizza slide, and highlight OMNI’s welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. Of course, no episode is complete without Tim's signature bathroom review!

Courtney (00:37.575)
Let's embark on the brewery adventure together. Cheers!
Tim (00:40.366)
Cheers, cheers. Welcome to the brewery adventure. Courtney, how are you?
Courtney (00:45.723)
I'm great, we're off to good start here.
Tim (00:47.468)
We are, I feel the energy, the energy level is good. In our pre-show talk, Courtney was almost opening her beer prematurely, so at least three times. So we're gonna get right to that right away. We are doing this episode on Omni Brewing Company. And this one is unique because they have two locations in the Twin Cities. Yeah.
Courtney (00:50.798)
Hahaha
Courtney (00:58.748)
At least three times.
Courtney (01:13.011)
too.
Tim (01:14.452)
one in the North Metro in Maple Grove, one in the South Metro in Rosemount. And we have visited both and we're ready to talk about them, but first we need to open our beers. And it just so happens, just so happens that Courtney and I have both picked the same beer, I believe.
Courtney (01:22.867)
Fear me.
Courtney (01:30.853)
It wasn't entirely intentional. I realized a little bit too late. I grabbed two crawlers when we were there. One is the beer that we're going to be drinking tonight. And the other, just grabbed one because it had the name Dreamsicle on it. And I thought, well, that's all whimsical and sounds like a lot of fun. but it's a seltzer, which I'm fine with. I like seltzers, but I really just wanted a beer tonight and not a seltzer. So.
Tim (01:36.76)
Yeah.
Tim (01:43.795)
Ooh, it does.
Okay. Yep. Okay.
Very good, very good. Well, go ahead and pop open your beer. Which is it?
Courtney (01:58.387)
This is the snow rye move-el. Rye.
Tim (02:01.875)
snow rye movable. You can tell by the name that it probably has rye in it.
Tim (02:09.901)
Nailed it.
Tim (02:14.242)
Yep, here goes mine.
Tim (02:18.371)
yeah, I have the same beer, the Snow Rye Movel. Ooh, that's a nice dark golden color.
I like that.
Courtney (02:31.571)
I'm still pouring. This is two episodes in a row that I have remembered to bring a glass.
Tim (02:37.57)
Well, you are recording from your home, so you have glasses available, I'm sure.
Courtney (02:40.179)
They're way over there.
Tim (02:44.916)
Mmm, yeah, way over there. This smells delicious.
Courtney (02:49.085)
Well, here comes the adventure part because the last time we were at Omni, well, okay, we were maybe at both locations within the last week. But you had a snow removal in a flight and we're not.
Tim (02:51.244)
Yep. Yeah.
Tim (02:57.614)
Yes, we were.
Tim (03:02.254)
I did. I had a flight when we were at the Rosemont location. I had a flight when we were there. We went down there with my wife, Krista, and we had a really nice time sitting down there and enjoying beer and pizza. And it was wonderful. But I had one called snow. It was called the Imperial Snow Rye Movel. And that one is 12.1 % alcohol. This one is six. It was delicious.
Courtney (03:25.915)
It was really good though. Yeah.
Tim (03:32.142)
keep it a really good rating on untapped, of course. But I'm to try this one. What are we waiting for?
Courtney (03:37.203)
I don't know.
Tim (03:42.254)
Mmm. Yeah, that's good. And I needed something to drink right now. My throat was itchy and I needed something.
Courtney (03:42.945)
that's really good too.
Courtney (03:47.293)
This is what I wanted.
Tim (03:54.464)
that's delicious. I think it tastes, yeah, it doesn't taste like the Imperial one because the Imperial one is Snow Rye Muv-el, but that one is aged in rye barrels. And like a rye, not a rye whiskey barrel. Yeah, was, yeah, aged in whiskey barrels. And that was delicious. I like it. Yeah, you're right. Sometimes when they do that, they can become overpowering with the alcohol bite.
Courtney (03:56.103)
That's really good.
Courtney (04:08.987)
It had the really nice barrel-age flavor. wasn't overpowering. was...
Courtney (04:23.474)
Yeah.
Tim (04:24.096)
and then it kind of loses a little bit of the attention to the flavor, but that one, they really hit it very, very well. But this one is also delicious and only 6 % alcohol, so good for us.
Courtney (04:36.519)
Very good for us.
Tim (04:38.318)
Wonderful. Well, Courtney, what do you think of this two location brewery thing overall?
Courtney (04:48.669)
I think it's really cool. I had only been to the Rosemount location. I think I've been there three, maybe four times, probably three times. But I hadn't been up to Maple Grove until we went just the other day.
Tim (05:02.796)
Yeah, and for those that don't know, the Maple Grove location was opened first. I don't remember what we have that in our notes somewhere, what year that was.
Courtney (05:13.765)
Omnibrewing was founded in 2015.
Tim (05:16.526)
There you go, 2015. And that is a brewery in Maple Grove. Now, if you go down to Rosemount, it's a winery. So if you're in Rosemount, it's pretty cool. You can get a flight of beers or a flight of wine or a little of both, think they'll even do. So it's...
Courtney (05:21.096)
Yes.
Tim (05:34.978)
got a wider range of drinks for different people who maybe aren't beer drinkers. They can have try some wine down there. If you're in the Northern location, the one in Maple Grove, they're not allowed to serve the wine there. And I think that has something to do with the brewery laws still that the breweries, if you're running a brewery, you're not allowed to serve other types of alcohol there like wine. So I think that's what's holding them back.
and maybe they'll get that changed at some point, you never know.
Courtney (06:09.457)
I bet they're working to get that changed.
Tim (06:10.83)
They're probably working on it. I hope they are. I hope they are because it is cool when you're down in Rosemount for people to be able to get both and You know not everybody likes a beer believe it or not
Courtney (06:21.969)
And it sounds like that was a very intentional move by them. They wanted to have other offerings other than beer for people who do not really care for beer. That's not their jam.
Tim (06:24.814)
Mm-hmm.
Tim (06:29.558)
Right, right, Yep. No, it's very good. It's very cool. Well, let's talk a little bit about the beers that we've had there. We'll get that out of the way. So has anything stood out to you as the ones that you've tried at Omni?
Courtney (06:44.007)
The last time, one of these last times, I'm gonna lump them both together. They had a porter that was a vanilla down by the porter. That was really super good. I enjoyed that one. They also have a beer called the Hearthfire that has a little bit of spice in it. It's really, really good.
Tim (06:56.238)
Mm-hmm.
Tim (07:05.052)
yeah, I like it when they have that. Yeah, that's usually a good flavor for beer. like those kind of spiced beers, even like the winter spiced beers, that kind of thing. Yeah, right. And it's a wonderful taste. It does feel like it's warming you up. I recently, at our last stop, now our last stop at Omni this past weekend, we were at a Munzee event.
Courtney (07:17.371)
It's called a winter warmer.
Tim (07:34.764)
and one of those geolocation games that Courtney and I both play. That's why on our website we have our real names and then a weird name underneath. Mine is Minnesota Boy and hers is Mecca MN. And we use those names for both geocaching and the game of Munzee. That's munzee.com. M-U-N-Z-E-E.com if you're interested in looking it up. It's a fun game to play, but anyway, we were at an event for Munzee on Saturday.
Courtney (08:01.671)
It was a very cold event on Saturday.
Tim (08:03.438)
Yeah, it ended up like the like we've had some days recently where it's, you know, 70 degrees out and we're outside in our t-shirts. In fact, when we were at Omni down in Rosemount, I wore a short sleeve shirt and I was perfectly comfortable. That day on that Saturday, we were it's suddenly the weather was it started the day at like midnight. It was 53 degrees and it just dropped all day long. And then it started raining and snowing and got really windy. And then we had those ice pellets that were blowing in our faces for a while.
Courtney (08:30.567)
Yeah, it was miserable.
Tim (08:32.127)
It was all very miserable. Courtney and I ran through the Munzee event as quickly as possible. I think we set a new Munzee world record for how fast you can complete a circuit of Munzee pins, we call them, scanning them with our phones. And we hurried and hurried and hurried to get through it. But we had a plan. We also had a plan that after that Munzee event, we were going to go to the Omni location in Maple Grove, because it wasn't that far away from where we were.
Courtney (08:50.962)
We did.
Tim (09:00.214)
And so we made our way over there, but a friend of ours got there a little before us. He wanted to meet us over there, and he got there before we did and texted, called Courtney, as kind of as we were just getting there, called Courtney. And what did Barry have to say about the situation?
Courtney (09:06.001)
Yes, you did.
Courtney (09:22.525)
He called it a St. Patrick's Day shit show.
Tim (09:25.326)
St. Patrick's shit show. And he was not wrong. He was not wrong. Now, not their fault. They were obviously having a very successful event. No doubt about it. It was packed. We parked probably two blocks away and walked back in that cold wind that was still going on. And they had a tent outside with a Irish band playing when we walked up.
Courtney (09:30.139)
He was not wrong.
Courtney (09:36.827)
Yes.
Tim (09:55.946)
and a bunch of people in there and there was we stepped in there in the door and barely in the door we were in line to get a beer. It was a long line though I say they handled it pretty well. We got through that line I think in about 15 minutes which I thought it was going to take longer and we picked up our beers. Which beers did you have that day?
Courtney (10:03.645)
Yes.
Courtney (10:20.089)
I had a hearth fire and I had the Irish Dry Stout Nitro.
Tim (10:25.614)
Oh yes, I had that one too. I had the Irish Stout. It was really good. I mean, that's right in my wheelhouse, the Stout. That style of beer is right in my wheelhouse. I really love that style. And I really enjoyed that one. And then along with that one, I got the beer of the day, of course, the greenest beer on tap. That's what they called it. The greenest beer on tap. was their light lager, colored green.
Courtney (10:37.188)
Hahaha
Courtney (10:46.993)
You were very festive.
Tim (10:53.254)
and fit in with the day. But that's why it was so busy there. Of course, St. Patrick's Day weekend, crazy, crazy busy. We barely got a seat at a table. We kind of squeezed into a corner at a table that looked like maybe there were three chairs that weren't being used, and thankfully we could get them. But we were also right by a door that went out to where the people could pick up their pizzas outside. And so that door kept getting opened, and it was windy and cold every time.
So we didn't probably have the best experience at Omni in Maple Grove. I have been to the Omni location probably three or four other times and had wonderful experiences there. I've been to a geocaching event there. I've gone there with a couple of friends and it's always been really nice. you know, a packed St. Patrick's Day weekend is probably not your time to evaluate it. But we still had our beers and we sat and chatted with our friend Barry.
Courtney (11:25.084)
No.
Courtney (11:48.295)
We still had our beers.
Tim (11:51.523)
for a while and we had as good a time as we could have in that environment.
Courtney (11:58.535)
I didn't look around the room very much because all I could see was a mob of people.
Tim (12:01.302)
Yeah, your back was to the room. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it was, it was crazy. That line never got shorter. In fact, sometimes it went out the door and down the sidewalk. So it was crazy busy. But again, we had that Irish stout, which is wonderful. And the green beer was fine. It was just a light lager. So, you know, not expecting much from it, but it was fine. And it was
Courtney (12:10.663)
Yes.
Courtney (12:26.109)
Well, and we were very smart and ordered both beers, like each of us had two beers upfront.
Tim (12:30.454)
We did because we had the online thing to get a BOGO, right?
Courtney (12:37.723)
we did it. Yeah, we had a coupon. We used our hops passport, but we ordered our two beers to start with so we didn't have to wait in that line again.
Tim (12:40.014)
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, no waiting in line. And we bought the Crowlers, the beers that we're drinking tonight at the same time as well. So we didn't have to go back in line. Yep, yep, yep. So we've had some really good times down in Rosemount and this time up at St. Patrick's Day weekend, a little less of a good time for us just because it's not the kind of thing we're hoping for out of brewery. As if you've listened to our podcast, you know, we like cozy little breweries and hanging out.
Courtney (12:48.178)
Yeah.
We're only doing it once.
Tim (13:09.806)
and talking to your friends and whatnot. And this one was so packed and so frenetic that it was tough. Yeah, it was tough. But we did it. But we did it.
Courtney (13:17.33)
It was tough.
Friday, night before at the Rosemount location was better. However, there was one major disappointment.
Tim (13:29.098)
What is the major disappointment?
Courtney (13:31.975)
The other times that we've been to the Omni and Rosemount, when you order a pizza, they had an external pizza trailer where they would make the pizzas because again, the brewery laws here, you can't, there's weird issues with serving food. So they have an external trailer that would have these pizzas that was attached to the building with a window, but the trailer was set up a little bit high. So from the window, they had a slide.
Tim (13:34.936)
Yeah.
Right.
Tim (13:47.069)
Yes, yes.
Tim (13:58.422)
Yeah, I remember that. Yeah, I remember that. That was very cool. They had logos on the bar, like, this is the pizza slide area. Yeah, the pizza landing. I thought that was so cool. And what happened now? They got rid of it, right? yes.
Courtney (13:58.503)
that they would put the pizza on and the pizza would slide down to the bar.
Courtney (14:06.897)
The pizza landing, yeah. Yeah. And I know that I, they got rid of it. I was so excited. We ordered our pizzas and we were kind of like wondering, are they ready yet? And I said, I'm going to go back and check because I'm really excited to go watch the pizza slide. But I got back there and the pizza slide was gone.
Tim (14:23.395)
Right.
Tim (14:26.862)
gone. Pizza trailer still there. Different one. I think a different one maybe. The level is like, because now the window was just like level. There was no need, no need for a slide. Yeah. that is disappointing. That was a fun little thing that they had. Yeah. I don't know. Maybe they had issues with it. Maybe some other, some other problems. Maybe sometimes pizzas went too fast and, and, know, and got off the landing area. I don't know.
Courtney (14:29.459)
Still there.
Courtney (14:43.271)
Yeah.
Courtney (14:47.891)
You
Courtney (14:52.886)
That could be.
Tim (14:57.954)
The one time we did see it work, like the last time we were there, it was very cool to watch a pizza come sliding in and just stop right on the bar.
Courtney (14:58.211)
escape pizzas.
Courtney (15:05.481)
I was really excited to just sit and watch the pizza slide.
Tim (15:07.97)
Yes, well, besides not having the slide and that being disappointing, the pizzas themselves were once again wonderful. Yes, they do a really good job with the pizzas down there. We had, we shared one that this one was up, had pickles on it.
Courtney (15:13.629)
So good.
Courtney (15:21.617)
Yeah, Kristin wanted no part of that pizza.
Tim (15:23.224)
Pickles and, no, she did not. My wife wanted nothing to do with the pickle and ranch dressing pizza, I think it was. Yeah, and some sausage, yeah, that's true. But she had another one that was just plain sausage, which also was delicious as usual. So kudos to them for making some great pizzas, but no kudos for not sliding them into the building anymore. Yeah, I know, I know, it's sad.
Courtney (15:32.999)
And there was sausage on it.
Courtney (15:47.837)
taking away my pizza slide.
Tim (15:53.14)
It's sad. Yeah, so we've had a really good time at Omni. We would both suggest visiting these locations, of course. The Rosemount one is quite a way south out of the metro. I mean, it's almost, to me it seems like you're going way out of the metro when you go way down to that one that's in Rosemount. But I know people live on the south side and to them it probably is a lot closer, obviously. To me it seems like a long ways. Yeah, they do.
Courtney (16:13.575)
Yeah.
Courtney (16:18.781)
People do live on the South Side.
Tim (16:21.986)
People do live south of the river. What are the other things that we need to talk about about Omni? Their start, yeah, what is it about their name? What does the Omni name mean?
Courtney (16:30.493)
Their name.
They named themselves Omni because Omni is all or of every kind. And they just had a vision for what they wanted their brewery to be. And they wanted it to be very inclusive, where everyone's welcome, everyone's invited. It's all kinds of beer for all kinds of people. And Omni, they felt just kind of captured that.
Tim (16:40.813)
Mm-hmm.
Tim (16:45.517)
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Tim (16:54.958)
Well, I think it does. I think it does. And it looks like, yeah, we talked a little bit earlier, the one in Maple Grove started in 2015, right? That's what I'm reading. And then the location in Rosemount came along later.
Courtney (17:12.039)
December of 2022.
Tim (17:13.806)
2022, so not very long ago. Yeah.
Courtney (17:16.178)
Not very long ago.
Tim (17:19.798)
It's a fun.
Courtney (17:19.805)
There was also a note that they, and I don't know how long ago this was and if things have changed. I assume things have changed at this point, but they were listed as maybe the only brewery in Minnesota that would run on solar power.
Tim (17:26.275)
Yeah.
Tim (17:34.35)
Yeah, I think they do, one of their distinctives is they have a lot of solar panels on the roof, I think. Yeah, always good to be saving that energy, right? Get that clean energy going. I thought it was interesting that they originally started, they did a Kickstarter campaign. 436 people participated, that's pretty good.
Courtney (17:40.531)
That's very cool.
Courtney (17:45.917)
Yeah.
Courtney (17:55.378)
Yeah.
Courtney (17:59.975)
Yeah, that's awesome.
Tim (18:01.238)
Yeah, and they set a really successful Kickstarter and pretty cool. I would say for Omni that I, of the two locations, I do like the Rosemount location better just for, it's kind of in, it's more in the countryside. They have a lot of open space outside. So there's a lot of tables outside and kids running around everywhere outside.
Courtney (18:23.367)
Yeah.
Tim (18:29.396)
and sometimes inside. Which Courtney and I both noticed that, well you say what you noticed about Omni.
Courtney (18:31.027)
Hahaha
Courtney (18:41.538)
Omnia is very kid-friendly, maybe to a fault.
Tim (18:46.038)
Yeah, I mean it's one of the distinct distinctives of breweries that we've talked about as opposed to going to a bar to have a beer for instance, that it's more kid-friendly, more family-friendly. You tend to see people with young kids hanging out in a brewery, whereas maybe not so much in a bar.
Courtney (19:01.042)
Yes.
And we see kids and families hanging out at all of the breweries we go to. But I feel like at Omni in particular, it is very much parents sitting at a table while their kids run around the building, run around outside.
Tim (19:07.37)
Yeah. And, and yeah, and it's true of all of them. Yeah.
Tim (19:17.294)
Yeah, especially outside. It looks crazy out there. Kids just running around. Now they do have a little bit of a lawn area for that purpose, I think. That's fine. But yeah, it is a little more frenetic with the kids running around in there. I was looking on their website because when we've been down in Rosemount, there's also been a lot of dogs there, both inside and out, and they are welcome to be there.
Courtney (19:22.011)
You
Tim (19:42.67)
But in the Maple Grove location, when I was reading the website, it says they don't allow dogs in the Maple Grove location. Inside. Outside they're perfectly welcome. But not inside the brewery. And that probably again has something to do with either the laws, the brewery laws, opposed to the winery laws, or the location being in Maple Grove rather than Rosemount. Rosemount, maybe Maple Grove has some stricter rules concerning dogs. I don't know.
Courtney (20:09.523)
That could be.
Tim (20:10.872)
I don't know what the reason is, but that's a little bit of difference between the two locations.
Courtney (20:16.861)
I met some very nice dogs at the Rosemount location when we were there.
Tim (20:19.038)
Yes, wonderful, wonderful dogs down there. Meow. I'm going to drink some more beer. What are you thinking of this, snow rye move-
Courtney (20:27.427)
I really, really like it. it's again, if I would have had the seltzer, it would have been fine. And I bet it's delicious, but I was really craving a beer.
Tim (20:36.726)
It's a really nice dark amber color. I like it. Okay, so one more thing I need to talk about is a bathroom review. Everybody looks forward to a bathroom review about these breweries. The bathrooms down in the Rosemount location of Omni, probably some of the best bathrooms. Super clean, super nice. The one I used was the one that had the baby changing table in it. So they have that option.
Courtney (20:57.127)
Yes.
Tim (21:06.91)
but they have individual little rooms with the toilets in them. Some of those, two of those rooms also have urinals in them as well. And you can kind of tell which one is which because the doors are closer together, the smaller ones, the doors are closer together and the middle two ones were kind of farther apart. the rooms are, yeah, the rooms are a little bit bigger. So you could maybe use those middle ones as more of a family restroom too, there's a little more room in there. You could bring your kids in there.
Courtney (21:25.447)
I didn't even notice that.
Tim (21:36.642)
but the wash, hand washing part of it is outside in the hallway, outside of those little rooms. And that's something that I really think is a great bathroom design for any public place. For a couple of reasons. One, because it doesn't matter who's using the bathroom. There's no gender problems at all. Nothing, anybody can use any bathroom. And it's just the most efficient in that sense because anybody can use any bathroom.
A lot of times in places where there's men's and women's rooms, women are standing outside waiting when the men are just going in and out really fast. Part of that probably because they're not washing their hands. I don't know. Actually, I do know. the I love this. I love this washroom outside the bathroom part of it. And like, you know, the more public nature of the hand washing area, because I think it puts public pressure on people to wash their hands, which I am super into. I love that.
Courtney (22:30.503)
Yes!
Tim (22:35.758)
So that's one reason I think it's very efficient and it puts public pressure on people to wash their hands. I think it's just a great design. There's prize brewing on the riverfront of Minneapolis also has bathrooms designed that way. And I'm sure there are probably others we haven't seen yet, but we'll get to them eventually.
Courtney (22:52.115)
I really like that. However, if we had been sitting closer to that bathroom area, I feel like I would have been watching the sink just to see if anybody skipped it.
Tim (22:53.165)
Yeah.
Tim (22:58.412)
Yeah, see who washes their hands and who doesn't. That might be a... Maybe next time we go off to sit on that end and bring a tally sheet.
Courtney (23:11.987)
We'll take some stats.
Tim (23:17.902)
You mentioned to me, you thought it was funny though, to get out of that little room where you do your business, you do have to touch the door handle. Yeah, and you just said like, how gross is that door handle? And then you get to wash your hands after that though. So it's maybe only a second or two, you'll be fine.
Courtney (23:26.407)
You have to touch the door.
Courtney (23:31.565)
it's probably terrible.
Courtney (23:40.987)
You think I'll be fine.
Tim (23:42.99)
Just don't put your hands to your face in between that door and the washing station. You'll be okay. Yeah, it's fine. It's It's doable. Okay, so the Maple Grove location bathrooms. I peeked into them. I didn't use it while I was there. I think I used it the last time I was there a couple years ago. Smaller bathrooms, men's and women's style, know, not big.
Courtney (23:48.915)
It's like two steps away. It's doable.
Courtney (24:13.053)
which was a little bit of a problem when we were there for a St. Patrick's Day thing. Yes.
Tim (24:15.948)
Yeah, I think on a normal day they're probably fine, but on that day with St. Patrick's Day celebrations going on, really undersized bathrooms for the amount of people that were there. But nonetheless, fine, they were fine, I think. But anyway, what did you think of it? You went into the women's room, what was it like?
Courtney (24:27.143)
There were a lot of bodies in the women's bathroom. Yes.
Courtney (24:40.743)
there were too many people. I had to wait and I was just trying not to push people out of my way.
Tim (24:42.252)
Yes. Yep.
Tim (24:51.829)
That's okay, that's okay. So yeah, A plus, A plus plus plus for the bathrooms down in Rosemount and we'll give them a passing B, which I guess I was doing, let's see, I was doing one through 10 scales before. So I guess we have to give them a 10 for the winery bathrooms and let's give them a 7.5 for the...
Courtney (25:05.469)
You were.
Courtney (25:14.417)
I'm going to give the Maple Grove one a wait until next time when there's not an event going on. And I can actually...
Tim (25:19.735)
Okay.
Tim (25:23.18)
All right, a tentative 7.5. And we will wait to reevaluate. Okay, sounds good. Sounds good. Yeah, I like it. I like it, I like it, I like it a lot. So we are going to be moving on, I think, from this show here pretty quickly, because I think we've covered Omni pretty well. It's a unique brewery in the Twin Cities because it does have two locations. Also, they have the wine available.
Courtney (25:25.435)
Yes.
Yeah, it could improve. Hopefully it doesn't get worse.
Courtney (25:45.297)
I think we did.
Tim (25:52.974)
down in Rosemount. The two locations are a little bit different from each other. The beers, think, being available at both are pretty much the same, as I remember. But you might want to check the tap list on their websites before you visit to see which one you might want to take off to.
Courtney (26:15.187)
I'm feeling like that hearth fire was perhaps a seasonal beer with it being a winter warmer and I should be stocking up on some crawlers.
Tim (26:18.68)
Sure, sure, yeah.
Tim (26:24.854)
Yeah, yeah, there are times of the year when I'm like, okay, I got to like when Oktoberfest beers start coming out. I'm like, I will go to Total Wine and buy like a cartload of Oktoberfest beers. Because both my wife Krista and I love that style of beer. And so we'll go through it. And sometimes they sell out really fast and you miss them. So you got to get them when you can. And yeah, it's kind of like that with winter beers, too. I like the darker beer styles generally.
Courtney (26:31.165)
Yeah.
Courtney (26:37.645)
Hahaha
Courtney (26:46.483)
Yeah.
Tim (26:53.863)
And sometimes when you get to the middle of the summer, there isn't any available.
Courtney (26:58.247)
They think people don't want that in the summer, but they're wrong.
Tim (26:59.81)
Yeah, it's all light beers at that point. That's wrong. That's just wrong. That's just wrong. I want them all year. So Courtney, I think we've covered Omni pretty well. We have done it a good service, I think. We like it. We would encourage you to visit it. Yep. And give Omni brewing a try in Maple Grove or in Rosebond. Next time.
Courtney (27:17.383)
Absolutely.
Tim (27:25.44)
on the brewery adventure in our next episode. We have actually decided what brewery we're going to do next.
Courtney (27:31.175)
I know everybody's shocked right now.
Tim (27:32.884)
And we were there just the other day because we were doing some geocaching around this brewery and we then stumbled in there. It was busy too when we were there, but it was handling that crowd very, very well. And what brewery was that?
Courtney (27:49.351)
Why are you gonna make me say it?
Tim (27:50.958)
Courtney (27:53.211)
Well, we're going to guess on the pronunciation because we were going to quiz people there to ask them how you properly say this. Oat-a-pills or oot-a-pills?
Tim (28:00.332)
We were... There you go. I think it's Oodapills. I'm going with Oodapills, that's how I've heard it said, and that's what I'm gonna say until we find out otherwise.
Courtney (28:11.997)
but they have a little coaster and it looks like it's Oda Pills.
Tim (28:14.99)
This is true. This is true. This is why we need to ask them, I guess. So when we make our next visit, we will find out for sure. So when we do the recording, we don't sound too crazy. Right. Exactly. Exactly. But anyway, Udupils is next on the schedule. They are located off of Glenwood Avenue in Minneapolis. Give it a visit if you're going by there. It is a very cool brewery there right on the creek. And it's kind of a cool spot to stop in.
Courtney (28:26.003)
We just continuously mispronounce their name.
Courtney (28:45.351)
and we'll have to go back and do more research. darn.
Tim (28:47.99)
Yeah, and if you're a geocacher, there's a geocache on their patio, which we did not find because we waited until it was very dark and we could not find it. But we will find it next time we're there. Anyway, thanks for coming along on this episode of the Brewery Adventure. Courtney, how can people contact us if they would like to?
Courtney (28:58.663)
We were not smart.
Courtney (29:10.717)

Tim (29:16.429)
Yes.
Tim (29:28.622)
Wow, we've got it all covered. Yeah, I do like to put out a little bit of a YouTube video about every brewery that we visit. So if you, after listening to the episode, say, hey, I might want to visit there, but you want to get a look at what it looks like, I usually give a quick walkthrough video. They're usually a minute to three minutes long. And you can find those on that YouTube channel, The Brewery Adventure on YouTube. And if you want to get a little bit of a look at what it looks like. Yeah, a little peek.
Courtney (29:31.313)
everything.
Courtney (29:55.911)
little peek.
Tim (29:58.048)
Anyway, we will catch you next time on the Brewery Adventure when we'll be talking about Oudepill's Brewing in Minneapolis. We'll see you then. Until then, cheers everybody.
Courtney (30:03.335)
haha
Courtney (30:07.581)
Cheers!
